PEACE PIECE

This is my statement piece for the followers of my graffiti. Yes it’s true, I’ve been exploring and experimenting with a lot of different concepts and ideas and perhaps that may make you think I have slipped a little or fallen off stylistically somehow, but if you look closely at this piece, if you see how the dimensions change surrealistically and you see how effortless it all seems you should then understand that when it comes to graffiti, even with using a limited and muted color scheme, I still have styles for miles! And with that I always say Peace.

GRAFFITI 3D

back to basics, the word that started it all! funny after all the thousands of graffiti pieces i have done, names, words, phrases and such, i had never done the actual word “graffiti” in graffiti. i wanted this piece monochromatic so you can appreciate the subtle curves, shadows and nuances that form the artwork. i think it really flows well, graffiti, good graffiti at it most basic form is a well-balanced combination of shape, color, balance and attitude. when those elements combine well, usually you will get graffiti that’s pleasing to the eye.

STYLE

Originally an oil painting, a medium a hardly care for, i sold style to a friend (i needed the cash). after some time and to my surprise, my friend wouldn’t sell the piece back to me (some pal, huh?). it’s very difficult reproducing paintings, you can never recapture the magic but what i have found is that you can make new magic from older paintings. so in essence, this painting, begun in 1998 has finally completed its journey, over 10 years later! i would never again try to “recreate” any former paintings, but there are definitely many i would like to reinvent!

BREAK FOR LOVE

OUCH! So swift and sharp is the edge of the Cupid’s arrow. A piranha bite pales in comparison to a slight lick from the arrow of love. The wounds, regardless of whether deep or not, always sting. Every shot is another wound for your mind to heal. Some of us heal quickly, some aren’t as fortunate. What many of us call “love”, is really just a seesaw existence because as we love, we hate, we fall and we get knocked down, we rise up and then we do it all over again! Centuries have only proved one thing: that we wouldn’t have it any other way!

SURFIN CONEY

From the deepest and darkest pit of despair is where the Phoenix rises. Watch as the power from within combines with anguish and anger. Then, observe how the Phoenix grinds these dark ashes and feeds from them, growing ever so slightly at first, but becoming mightier and mightier each passing moment! The Phoenix is strength, formed from the strife of generations past and persecuted from races stereotyped. The downtrodden, the huddled masses, together, uniting and uplifting each other to heights unforeseen and more powerful than any singular being; strong in its unity, powerful in itself the Phoenix will vanquish all in its path.
